View the 2022 President's Message from Katie Rudnick |
PRC Community, My name is Katie Rudnick, and I am so excited to be your 2022-23 PRC President. 2021 was another challenging year for our industry but what we learned in the last 2 years is just how crucial Global Mobility’s role is to organizations. Partnerships, knowledge, creativity, and resilience brought our industry through an unprecedented Global Pandemic and an evolving workforce and now we are facing a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine that again is leaning on our industry to adapt quickly. Global challenges have never felt so local. These trials highlight the importance of organizations like the Portland Relocation Council and our sister organizations across the country to not only educate but to connect our community to the right resources at the right time. While 2021 saw the return of in person events within our community, the opportunities PRC and others had to expand our audience cannot be understated. Our Portland market has also benefited immensely from the opportunity for many of our global mobility leaders to choose where they want to work. While Portland has always enjoyed our home base participation from Nike, Adidas, Intel, Columbia Sportswear, Vestas, and others we can now welcome a new batch of mobility professionals joining us and making our corporate membership stronger than ever and providing more robust benchmarking opportunities. As PRC celebrates our 18th year, I am incredibly proud to lead our largest board ever. This board is full of industry leaders and includes 8 new faces, 7 current or past regional presidents, and 5 corporate members. We have been hard at work making plans for 2022 including our first in person Spring Meeting in 3 years. For those of you who have attended our events in the past you know we embrace our cities unique and fun atmosphere and try to continue to bring you relevant education in beautiful locations around our city while maybe enjoying a nice glass of Oregon Pinot, while rocking an ugly Christmas sweater or some bright golf pants. Our spring meeting is continuing this tradition and will be held May the 4th also known as “Star Wars Day”. I hope you plan on joining us in the amazing city of Lake Oswego to learn about what happens when the Economy Strikes Back or as we try to Demystify the Dark Side of an RFP with some Mobility Jedi Masters. This summer we are finalizing dates for our 2nd annual Summer meeting out at McMenamins Edgefield, pencil in your calendars for August 31st. Then it’s never too early to start shopping for your next Holiday attire for our December 7th Winter Meeting. All of this would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors. This year we are truly humbled by the record number of sponsor partners who have chosen to invest in PRC, stay tuned for some fun interactive ways we will be highlighting these remarkable supplier partner organizations. I look forward to continuing the momentum of those amazing leaders that have come before me and we are all committed to focusing on continuing our reputation as one of the most inclusive and welcoming regional councils. If you want to hear more about our plans for this year or find out how you can get involved as a volunteer, please join us for a PRC Virtual Happy hour on March 29th. The invitation and Link will come out next week. I want to thank everyone involved in our community who inspire us to be better and to those who are looking to join us for the first time this year, It’s Gonna be EPIC! |
